I’m weak. What can I say. New Shiny. I also got the dohickey that lets you turn it into an FM transmitter and play tunes over your car stereo. I’ve yet to test this, but I’m sure it’ll work just fine.

So I spent a pretty significant amount of time sifting through a complete shitload of crappy programs that came sort of close to doing what I wanted, but weren’t really it. The best I found was Media Monkey, which at least lets you search amazon for the album cover art, and gives you options how to put that art into your catalog. As it turns out, iTunes wants the cover art in the file, and I hadn’t selected that option.

So then I wanted a tool that would do that for me, and just that. I dug around more, and eventually found iArt, which does the trick very nicely. Automatic mode if you want it, searching amazon or google, select from the choices that it presents, etc. There is a mode that also lets you search the directory the mp3 is in for a .jpg files, but that appears to be broken. I’m going to check with the author once I get my registration code ($10!!). Whaddadeal.

So at some point, all this will be synced to the new shiny, and then I’ll be able to view the album cover art on there as well. Stupendous.
